SUBJECT:
Possible Fuel Valve Leaking
APPLICABILITY:
All Kitfox's Equipped with the P/N 49001.000 Fuel Valve
COMPLIANCE:
MANDATORY
FROM:
SkyStar Aircraft Engineering
Prior
to your next flight, perform an inspection of your fuel valve for evidence of
fuel leakage. Pay particular
attention to the plugs, either pressed in or screwed into the side of the valve
body, and to the swaged fittings on the hoses that are attached to the valve.
Repeat this inspection at frequent intervals to guard against the leakage
of fuel into the cockpit.
Any
evidence of leakage is sufficient to conclude that the valve is deteriorating
and should be replaced.
We
no longer stock or ship this valve, and have developed a replacement fuel valve
kit, P/N 10251.000 that can be ordered by calling Customer Service at
208-454-1443. Replacement of the
old valve that shows any signs of leakage is mandatory before further flight,
and precautionary replacement of
the old valve is recommended.
